We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major pharmaceutical construction project in Surrey. The role involves supporting mechanical installation, coordination, quality, and project delivery within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support mechanical systems installation, including piping, HVAC, utilities, and process equipment
Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and mechanical construction documentation
Assist in mechanical design reviews and coordinate with design teams through the RFI process
Produce mechanical material take-offs, equipment schedules, and technical submissions
Monitor site progress against programme and issue mechanical progress reports
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure mechanical works are delivered to specification and schedule
Conduct quality inspections, snagging, and compliance checks for all mechanical elements
Support commissioning teams with testing, handover documentation, and system readiness
Maintain document control for all mechanical-related project information
Undertake additional duties as required by project management
What We’re Looking For
Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering within construction
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life science, or other highly regulated sectors (preferred)
Good commercial awareness relating to mechanical packages
Knowledge of HSE systems, mechanical standards, and industry regulations
Excellent coordination and communication skills
Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
